Tom Rookard, owner. Renaissance man. Background includes US Navy, Peace Corps, vice cop, railroad man, Fuller Brush man, BA and MA from PSU. Travel includes more oceans than most people can name, and countries we can hardly find on a globe. Settled into sailing in the eighties. Runs a good program. Sails with grace. Coast Guard licensed and ASA certified.
Melissa Bearnes, instructor. Started teaching in Eugene, brings endless enthusiasm and some excellent team-building skills. Her classes might run late and they're always fun!
Colleen Bennett, instructor. Also teaches flying and has been known to refer to the bow of a boat as the "nose." Conveys the art and science of sailing with skill; gets great reviews from her students.
George Crino, instructor. George is perhaps the most frequent sailor in the neighborhood. Look for him in his blue Ranger 23, Off Duty, any day the wind blows and a few others. His classes often run late. ASA certified.
Nigel Dickens, instructor. Nigel comes to us with a life a sailing experience, most recently teaching on the challenging waters of San Francisco Bay. Coast Guard licensed, ASA certified.
Steve Huserik, instructor. Veteran sailor, patient and kind instructor. Gets great reviews from his students.
Cliff Mason, instructor. Honed his reefing skills sailing in The Gorge; teaching on Sundays since 1995. Talk to Cliff about our big boat and saltwater classes. Coast Guard licensed, ASA certified.
