Our Staff

Tom Rookard, owner. Renaissance man. Background includes US Navy, Peace Corps, vice cop, railroad man, Fuller Brush man, BA and MA from PSU. Travel includes more oceans than most people can name, and countries we can hardly find on a globe. Settled into sailing in the eighties. Runs a good program. Sails with grace. Coast Guard licensed and ASA certified.

George Crino, instructor. George is perhaps the most frequent sailor in the neighborhood. Look for him in his blue Ranger 23, Off Duty, any day the wind blows and a few others. His classes often run late. ASA certified.

Nigel Dickens, instructor. Nigel comes to us with a life of sailing experience, most recently teaching on the challenging waters of San Francisco Bay. Coast Guard licensed, ASA certified.

Steve Huserik, instructor. Veteran sailor, patient and kind instructor. Gets great reviews from his students, sometimes forgets when class is over, sails on into the night!

Cliff Mason, instructor. Honed his reefing skills sailing in The Gorge; teaching on Sundays since 1995. Talk to Cliff about our big boat and saltwater classes. Coast Guard licensed, ASA certified.

Ken Roush, instructor. Beneath Ken's mild-mannered veneer is veteran sail racer, active with his J-24 on the river and with other captains for off shore events.
